Beginner Acoustic Guitar Tabs

What is the next thing after buying your first beginner acoustic guitar ?(Click here for more detail about beginner guitar Yes, you should learn how to play it. To learn guitar, you must know your guitar and some basic music theory. Musicians play music by reading staff notation which is somewhat difficult for guitar beginners. Fortunately, guitar tabs can help the beginners and some guitarist to learn and practice some guitar techniques,. Acoustic guitar beginners can learn playing scales and chords quickly with the help of guitar tabs.

Guitar tabs have six horizontal lines like the staffs in staff notations. The lines represent the six strings of the acoustic guitars. Look at the fret board of your guitar, the six strings from the thinnest to the thickest correspond to the six lines in guitar tabs from top to bottom. They are e, A, D, G, B,E. On the left of the tab lines, these characters are labeled to indicate the names of the strings. What the numbers on the lines stand for? They are the frets you should use your fingers to press on to obtain certain note. From nut to sound hole of your acoustic guitar, the bigger the numbers, the high the pitch. For instance, the number 1 on the first line of the tab means you should press down the first fret on the e string. If the number is 0, that means you needn’t to press this string or open string. This is the basic of acoustic guitar tabs. There are lots of other symbols on the tab lines to record the various techniques of acoustic guitar playing.

Why should you learn guitar tab? Guitar tab is simpler than standard notation and is easier to read. It helps you practice and memorize the scales and chords. Any disadvantage? The main issue of guitar tab is that there is no method to indicate the rhythm. It can tell you which fret you should press but not tell you how long you should press. One solution is put the guitar tab under musical notation. Despite the drawback of guitar tab, it is still the most popular tool for beginners even some professional guitarists.

Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
